My Approach

You can’t heal from an unresourced place

When embarking on our healing journey, in pursuit of emotional and mental well-being, we need to unpack our emotional cupboard — connecting with old, suppressed emotions to release the emotional charge from memories that were too much to experience at the time, in other words our unprocessed trauma. However, before embarking on this deeper level of healing, we must ensure a solid foundation to work from.

All good healing modalities start with building resilience & internal resources

My approach uses a 5Rs for well-being model.

Building Resilience

To build a strong foundation we need to build a personal resilience practice by focusing on the first 3 Rs of resilience:

Recognising your individual symptoms of stress, what it looks & feels like, & the protective patterns you run

Learn how to create a felt-sense of safety in your body so you can reset in the moment

Know what resources and recharges you & do it regularly

Using a combination of nervous system regulation techniques including TRE®, body awareness & psycho education, we can create a personal resilience practice. A resilient nervous system means we can self-regulate more easily, increasing our capacity to feel and experience emotions including the uncomfortable ones. And with this increased capacity we will be more able to deal with everyday stresses more easily. My role is to teach you how to build this for yourself.

Moving into deeper transformative change

For those wanting to deepen their healing, we move into the transformational change part of the model.

Coming into the body, connecting to the sensations & emotions that are there to be felt, processed & released.

Reconnecting to those parts of us we’ve pushed away, inviting them back & restoring our wholeness.

Using both TRE® and Therapeutic Coaching™ we can start to address unwanted patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, through the exploration of your inner world and subconscious mind.

Working with the body’s sensations and emotions to connect with the inner world means that we don’t have to revisit past events, only past emotions. It’s not the memory that needs releasing, it’s the emotional charge and our relationship with that emotion/imprint/part of us that was too much to experience the event at that time.

This can be done without the need to revisit the “story” or specific “content” of that memory or event. In fact, it’s easier to release when working content free, so that emotions can be safely experienced, processed and released without the attachment to the context of the event. That’s the beauty of working with the subconscious mind and where true transformation occurs.

My role is to facilitate and guide you gently through this emotional processing.

The healing journey is an ongoing cycle of having a personal resilience practice, releasing and reintegration.

Often when we have released and reintegrated, the next layer or level starts to show up, ready to be healed.  With each layer a new awareness of a pattern of behaviour, thoughts or feelings surface, we learn to allow and experience the emotion from a regulated space so that we can go on to release and reintegrate this new part of wisdom into ourselves.

We can sometimes think that we are going backwards, whereas in fact, this is a sign we are ready for the deeper level of healing.  We might feel stuck at times, but we never go backwards.

Healing is not a linear process, and it requires courage, patience, and self-compassion. By prioritising resilience first, we equip ourselves with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of healing, ultimately guiding us back to a place of wholeness, authenticity, and inner peace.
